Spending a few days in the fall on Florida’s Scenic Highway 30A is a real treat. You can do the beach, go out in the fresh air, check out the local restaurants, and hit the seasonal events and still be back in the office in a few days. No matter who you’re traveling with (family, friends, a special someone), this three-day 30A itinerary is going to help you get the most out of a short beach break.
If you’re planning your own fall weekend on 30A, then download Adagio’s free 30A Vacation Guide, which has recommendations for local restaurants, the beaches, shopping, state parks, and all sorts of other things to do during your visit.
What Is Fall Weather Like on 30A?
Fall brings cooler weather to the Florida Panhandle as summer draws to a close. The weather can vary depending on your exact travel dates, so it’s always worth checking the local forecast before your trip.
Pack so you’re ready for anything. Beach gear, comfortable shoes for walking and/or biking, and an extra layer just in case it gets cool. That way you can chill by the Gulf, pop into a state park or go out for dinner without any issues.
Day 1: Arrive and Settle Into Your Rental

Start your fall weekend on 30A by taking it easy. Once you’re checked into your Adagio rental, take some time to settle in and head to the beach. Adagio 30A’s condos are in the Blue Mountain Beach section of Santa Rosa Beach and provides guests with direct access to the beach. It also has a large pool, hot tub, fitness center, grilling areas, and communal lawns.
Enjoy a relaxed first evening with a bit of coast time and then dinner. There’s a good range of dining options available, including Café Thirty-A and Stinky’s Fish Camp.
Day 2: Explore the Outdoors on 30A
Spend your first full day out in the outdoors on 30A. There are loads of ways to get out and about in nature, whether you’re inclined to stay on the sand or you want to see a bit more than just the beach. If you’re into being on the water, then kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, and snorkeling are all options. If you’d prefer to stay on land, then hiking and cycling are excellent ways to get around.
Day 3: Explore More of 30A and Attend a Fall Event

On your last full day, go a bit further afield than just the beach and check out some of the rest of 30A.
Shopping is a pleasure. Check out the Village of Baytowne Wharf, Silver Sands Premium Outlets, Pier Park, and the 30A Farmers Market. Fall is also a good time to throw in a seasonal event. As with event dates and such, things can change year on year, so always check the most up-to-date information before adding any festival or celebration to your trip.
Day 4: Enjoy One Last Morning in Santa Rosa Beach
Before you go, take it easy on your last morning. Coffee at your condo, some fresh Gulf Coast air, or a final trip to the beach would be good.
If you’ve got a bit of spare time before you go, why not grab breakfast or pop in to one of your favorite places from the weekend?
This is one of the reasons a short beach break in Florida is so attractive. You can do the beach, the outdoor stuff, the eating, and the events of the season all in the space of a long weekend over three nights.
