Where is Blue Mountain Beach Located?
Blue Mountain Beach is a small community in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, nestled between iconic Highway 30A and the stunning Gulf. Known for Southern hospitality, it is one of several coastal communities along the Florida Panhandle, almost halfway between Destin and Panama City Beach.
This incredible locale offers beautiful weather year-round and easy access from many major cities in the Southern United States. Whether you are coming from Dallas, Nashville, or Atlanta, your trip will be a breeze!
How Did Blue Mountain Beach Get Its Name?
That is a great question. The three words in the name come from three different sources. “Blue” originates from the flowering blue lupines that once covered the dunes. According to local legend, early sailors and explorers saw the towering dunes, rising over 60 feet above sea level, from their ships. When the flowers were in bloom, it looked like a “Blue Mountain”. “Beach”, of course, is from the breathtaking stretch of pristine, white sandy shoreline.
